1 Tim 1:17- To the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God be honor and glory forever and ever, Amen.
I love Paul!! Here we see Paul beginning to give Timothy instructions about how a pastor or one in leadership should act and live. But before he starts diving into that he starts basically telling his testimony. He talk about all that the Lord has brought him through. Where he started and where he is now. He then acknowledges that he himself could do none of it in his own strength. He gave God and His might grace all the glory. Then Paul continues on to almost get over whelmed with how amazing our God is that He start praising Him. Basically giving a benediction simply because he is in awe and in love with his God.
What about us? Do we, do I, get that excited when I talk about all that God has done with me? Has God done great things with me? If our answer is no then the question becomes why not? Are you afraid of what God might do if we really give Him control. Surrender all. What if we actually humble ourselves and say that we could be wrong about something. Would God change our way of thinking?
I believe in our culture today we are so prideful that the idea of changing our way of thinking is what sends most into a tailspin. I can't be wrong. Don't make me take back what I have been saying all of these years. But isn't that the point. We are going to be wrong. We are Human just FYI. We can change our thinking even if we have preached if from our soap box for so long. We must humble ourselves and admit we don't have all the answers. But God does. Lets look to Him to mold and shape who we are. If we do this we are going to be just like Paul. We are going to look back on who we were and who we are now and me overwhelmed by all that God has done in and through us.
